Dear Mr. President,
I was so happy and grateful to see that the checks and
balances that our forward-thinking fore-fathers created finally kicked in. Yeah!
You may want to run this country as an authoritarian autocratic regime…but
you can't. And Hallelujah for that!
When Federal Judge Robart (appointed by a Republican no
less) did his job and blocked your immigration ban he wasn't "taking law
enforcement away from our country" as you so elegantly tweeted. He was
doing exactly what he was appointed to do, namely, checking the power of a
renegade president trying to govern by executive order rather than in partnership
with the Congress. He was also upholding the rule of law. It took two weeks for you to bump into this
fabulous system of checks and balances, but I knew you would eventually.

P.S. I find it ironic
that waiting 120 days to vet already pre-approved travelers seems
reasonable to you but waiting only 7 days for a background check to purchase a
gun isn't. Maybe next time we can talk
about the number of mass shootings in this country and just who, exactly, is
wielding the gun.
