#30) Earth to Donald...

March 4, 2017

Dear Mr. President,

Today 12 people were seriously injured in an ISIS led chemical attack in Iraq.  This is a war crime.  I mean an actual war crime as well as a violation of international humanitarian law.  But the tweets out of the White House today - from YOU our fearless, freaky leader - were about how President Obama tapped phones at Trump Tower during the election and that Arnold Schwarzenegger is leaving The Apprentice TV show.  Just how out of touch are you!?!  There are REAL things going on in the world that you should be addressing as President of the United States!  I don't give a flying fig about what Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing...and neither should you!!  I also feel that your crazy, baseless claims of wire tapping are immature.  Just another sign of your instability and inability to be our president.

And just so you know, if you honestly believe that your phones were illegally tapped, then you should be calling for a formal, legal investigation, activating the Justice Department as well as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court AND you should do this through proper channels.  Tweeting is not a proper channel.

I am embarrassed and ashamed that the president of my country tweets more than a teenage girl.  Your presidency is fast becoming a joke Mr. Trump.  And your baseless, provocative accusations are looking more like a smoke screen to turn public attention away from other, more important matters. What are you trying to distract us from?

How are we to trust a president who just makes things up?  What kind of a society will we have when our government and elected officials no longer have the public trust?  A truly scary thought.

With Disgust,
Amy Beaton

  1. “We have as president a man who is erratic, vindictive, volatile, obsessive, a chronic liar, and prone to believe in conspiracy theories,” said conservative commentator Peter Wehner, who was the top policy strategist in George W. Bush’s White House. “And you can count on the fact that there will be more to come, since when people like Donald Trump gain power they become less, not more, restrained.” - Washington Post

In a million years I wouldn't have imagined I'd experience a growing respect for Dubya and his crew.

Then again I never in a million years would've expected a presidency like this.
